I’m a writer and editor with a strong sense of curiosity and a keen eye for detail.
In the newsroom, I’ve reported on religion, education, health, and several other beats. Working as a news reporter is like taking a crash course in everything, which is part of what makes it so rewarding.
As an editor, I guide writers and clarify content, polishing stories until they shine. I find sneaky style errors, create solid headlines, and fix faulty punctuation. I am passionate about helping writers hone their skills while maintaining their individual voices.
I also taught high school English for two years. I helped fourteen-year-olds get excited about semicolons, Shakespeare, and citing their sources. Most importantly, I helped them find a voice on the page.
Right now, I’m enjoying life as a full-time copy editor and a freelance writer. I’ve written several women’s lifestyle pieces about time and productivity, authenticity, and finding joy. I’ve also written about inexpensive recipes, trips, and DIY projects. In addition, I’m an academic writing consultant, and I’m dreaming up a couple fiction projects.
